About EduAtlas & data sources

EduAtlas lists 55,743 colleges. The backbone is the official AISHE Higher Education Directory (All India Survey on Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India) — every affiliated, constituent, autonomous and recognised college with its AISHE code, district, management, year of establishment, urban/rural location, affiliated university and website where reported.

That is enriched with regulator-based spreadsheets (NMC, DCI, NCISM, PCI, RCI, NCHM and portal lists) for seats and course details, plus field data (contacts) for Karnataka and Guntur. Photos and summaries come from Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons where a confident name match exists (180 colleges); the rest show a stream-coloured placeholder instead of a wrong picture.

Streams are inferred. AISHE does not record a college's course list, so for AISHE-only colleges the stream tags (Medical, Nursing, Engineering, Arts & Science…) are inferred from the college name. Treat them as a guide and confirm programmes with the college. Entries marked Unverified come from starter lists and should be confirmed with the regulator.

Standalone institutions (e.g. stand-alone medical institutes) and universities are not part of the AISHE college directory; only those present in our curated spreadsheets appear.
